Black History Month is always important, but it is even more significant now given the concerted effort by Republicans to whitewash history and foster ignorance among the populace. We must push back and never let White Nationalists succeed in their dream of making Black History history.
James Baldwin understood what truth requires.
Writer. Essayist. A voice that confronted power and named the danger plainly.

Black History. Always. 🖤

I don't know how many times we will be told by the legacy media that Trump is moderating or backing off only to then see he is worse than ever. He is an authoritarian. He enjoys the cruelty. And the first thing he had Pam Bondi do after the shooting was to try to leverage it to get the voter files.

Naming someone is not doxxing. They aren’t undercover. They aren’t intelligence agents overseas. This is outrageous - we are supposed to be a free Republic and these people want an authoritarian police state. Lawsuits should be filed & ranking Dems in Congress should act.

Something has changed in recent weeks. The lies are no longer about shadowy figures wielding great power and influence. They are now targeting everyday citizens — people standing in their own communities, in front of their homes, protecting their neighbors. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/lies...
Lies, violence and the American state
Trump abhors democracy because it allows ordinary Americans to reject his lies. Even worse for Trump, it allows us to reject him.

I was writing a column on assaults on college free speech when I heard the news about Charlie Kirk. Then I watched the hypocrisy as the same Republicans passing laws to crush academic freedom praised the often toxic Kirk as an avatar of free expression

Do you know how insane and infuriating it is to live in a country where one party claims, with media and public support, the mantle of being the ‘tough on crime’ party while its leader openly calls for convicted criminals to be released from prison ‘or else’?
