Cost to fund SNAP and keep 42 million people from starving:

$100 billion

Cost of lost revenue due to tax cuts for the richest Americans in the top 1%:

$100 billion

One is decried as "welfare." One is not.

Why?

Somebody slipped this 20 under my door, but something about it seems fake.

In so many ways, the vibrancy of our city can be judged by the health of our bodegas.

That’s why I’m so proud to be in the Bronx this morning to accept the endorsement of the United Bodegas of America.

"It's basically Groundhog Day," Palestinian writer Muhammad Shehada says of Israel's latest attacks across Gaza that killed over 100 people. He says Israel has a long history of signing ceasefire agreements only to immediately and repeatedly violate them.

“Dysfunctional government” doesn’t even begin to describe this.

1.4 million civilian federal employees didn’t get a paycheck. And the part no one’s talking about: even if the government reopens tomorrow, we’ll be right back on the edge by November 21—the next shutdown deadline.

Chaos on repeat.

Most people in the US don’t give diphtheria a passing thought if they’ve heard of it at all. We have decades of vaccines to thank for that, for now.

But it’s surging in places like Somalia, where health systems have been weakened by war, and hit hard by USAID cuts.

The cruelty is the point.

It's been 31 days since Adelita Grijalva was elected by the people of Arizona's seventh congressional district to represent them in Congress.

Watch this.

Open your eyes to this brutality.

ICE beats up, drags & abducts this disabled visually impaired man.

Now share this.

Everyone must see the brutality of this administration & ask themselves what they are doing to push back.

You have power.

Even sharing this video exerts that power.
