Fletch away is a tricky place to go.

Fede and Curtis with the work rate. Could be and probably should be on 10 minutes, at least, before they were.

Up the Reds. Not pretty but solid enough and composed.

Yeah “it’s Sunderland” but that’s the first time they’ve been beaten at home. We needed the points and we got them.

He’s not been great every time he’s played this season but there’s clearly enough there to make it so tragic that he can’t stay fit. I doubt he’ll be looking at his medals and regretting too much when he’s over but wasn’t there the potential for so much more?
Gomez real solid since coming on btw.

Wirtz been unlucky to come out the aggressor in a few 50/50s and commit a foul. Not one word from Fletch on just letting the game go, nothing on the spirit of the game.

Big weirdo.

Ibou been steady away since returning, despite the grief, despite the mounting pressure from his mistakes. Some big blocks, solid challenges and no inches given. Deserves the plaudits - especially since he was getting it BAD for the recurring errors.

(🤞)

Fair play to Endo there. He didn’t want us to be down to ten men. He’s that time of player.

Horrible jarring too.

GET IN.

Dig in, lads. Keep going for that next goal.

Fletch hates us, doesn’t he? HATES US. There’s some kind of arc involved. Made his way up broadcasting to deride the Reds after he was sent home from an LFCTV interview some twenty years before.

I don’t know if we have the mobility in that midfield to commit to the press we know and love. Not one of them has the ‘explosive’, sustained pace of a Dom. Hugo could, but can Cody and Mo either? I know that’s equally a problem - but it’s my guess as to why it’s not being encouraged.

He’s not even pulling on the shirt - it’s that class ‘the arm is in the right place to throw myself down’. Players like Gordon are great at winning a foul from nothing with the same action. Fools the refs enough.

Nothing pretty about it but we’ve been the better team. Something stoic about it - heads down, working hard. Need a bit more commitment to that last pass or that shot.

Would love to see a bit more of that kind of interplay between Hugo and Cody and Hugo and Salah. Feel like they only ever pass with the intention of receiving another to get a shot off rather than to build attacks. Bit more synergy, boys.

Some Sunlan fan’s kicking off about Salah getting ‘so much protection’. Never watched a Liverpool game in his life.

‘The keeper’s scribbled on his water bottle there, Coisty, and you have to say it’s better than Da Vinci.’

‘Aye, the big Italian wouldn’t be disappointed wi’ that.’

‘It just shows how Liverpool are struggling.’

‘Great shout, Fletch!’

Brilliant from Wirtz - the nick and the pass. Get him on the ball.

Makes a big difference when the defence deal with things in that composed way. Ibou’s big block and getting on with it, Virgil heading away and the team moving out together…

Just need the cohesion to hold, which has obviously been a big issue in too many games.

Arguably a better start versus this lot than at Anfield. Early days and a foul throw but Endo’s had a few moments to get himself settled and they’re not being allowed to step on us in possession.

Will be a period but we just need to start knocking it around to frustrate them with that home record.

Decent bit of sustained pressure since that interception. Hopefully build a bit of confidence, get themselves involved.
Love it, Robbo. More of that.
