Sorry I thought I could edit this and sort out alt text before sending it off. It's a watercolour painting of a bear anyway!

Here's a small export from the scanner (reduced output size, but the original scan is great!). Very happy with it.

Bought a scanner and finally might have an affordable way to get some of my pastel landscapes (and various other art) for sale!

Just having fun learning how to get the most out of it at the moment!

I'm holding the first copy of my new book in my hand, and it feels pretty good. :D

It's been four years coming, but it's finally done. On to the next one. Hopefully it'll be a bit quicker.

More UK games layoffs. Absolute joke. Investors feel clueless and just want magic money.

I get people having enough and selling their company on/getting acquired, but you know what's going to happen in roughly 18 months after it.

UK has some great talent, but it's getting absolutely wasted.

Steaming trying to push you either ads or another piece of content before the credits start fully rolling is gross.

Remember people work on this content you watch and you can make it as well.

It's like they just want folk to consume only and not think about the teams of artists that make it.

And what did they save? Like a few thousand bucks? On a game that is like a billion dollar franchise?

This is just petty and cheap.

When you're spending hundreds of millions and try to save a few thousand on some inferior ass art, something's wrong.
Call of Duty isn't even hiding the fact that loads of its calling cards and other unlockables are AI generated this year.

For one of the biggest video game franchises in the world this is pretty disgusting...

Nothing says 'we care about education' than having a bare-minimum effort AI statistic generator as some kind of KPI driver.

How inspiring to students, teachers and parents.

Teachers should respond in kind with a 0 effort AI response.

Just for fun, did a review about the recent Frankenstein movie.

I think some of it may feel like a jab but that isn't the intention at all, I just want to see more collaboration between departments, rather than a shunned and scapegoated monster (that is often VFX).
A ★★★½ review of Frankenstein (2025)
A good rendition of the classic tale. Worth a watch, beautiful costume design and as expected, exceptional interiors amidst sweeping vistas. Del Toro's films were the reason why I got into VFX initial...

Indulged in buying a new dip pen, very excited to give it a go when it arrives!

I still think younger me would be so happy that I spend spend most sensible money on comics, art and art supplies.

We never got to owning a house, but we can make a mean comic & art book fort.

Went to a little model village nearish to us. Nice weather for it!

Going to try and do a few little drawings or paintings based on our visit!

Hate doing this, because everyone is skint, but Oz is the only important thing in my life and I'm too broke to cover his additional surgery. If you'd like to help, please use OZVET20 at checkout on fenrisgames.com/shop for a nice discount or ko-fi.com/fenrisgames if you don't need toys.
Thankyou 💔

Bit of controller history (kinda) here;

The MPC Fly. I bought it for my iPad and made some early beats on it.

Currently boxing a lot of my samplers and controllers away. MPC wise I have this, the mpc1000 and Live 2.

Happy memories!

Sorting out some of my old games, found this boxes DK64. It says no expansion pack but I remember it had one in there, as I have the plastic bit from the N64 in the box.

This was seen as expensive when I bought it (got a discount though!).

Of course the neighbours that have a car that sounds like it shat itself are blasting overly loud fireworks in a tiny terrace garden.

Not like there's wood and wildlife around with pets nearby.

There was a massive local event on for it about 20 minutes away as well, surely go see those.

Seems like Pete Knifton passed away. An old fantasy artist that did some art for GW back in the day for things like Blood Bowl.

RIP.

I'm sure plenty were inspired by his work. Always great to go back and look at what set the foundation for newer games or tabletop stuff.

Playing around with some heightfields again.

I find it pretty relaxing and fun. Here I've gone for some kind of microscope image. Hopefully giving a sense of it being zoomed in to maybe the surface of a tiny pebble.
