It's always been and will forever be about service above self. My passion for improving lives will always be at the forefront of my work.

I am proud to work with Representative Rufffridge and fellow minority caucus members to affect real and lasting change that benefits every Alaskan.

As Alaska ignores requests to fund school repairs, its Indigenous children suffer most because rural schools serve predominantly Alaska Native students — a population that was long forced to attend separate and unequal schools.

A Rural Alaska School Asked the State to Fund a Repair. Nearly Two Decades Later, the Building Is About to Collapse.
Rural school districts depend on the state to fund construction and maintenance projects. But over the past 25 years, Alaska lawmakers have ignored hundreds of requests for public schools that primari...

Women comprise a majority of the mandated reporters in this country.

Women also hold more student loan debt likely due to gender pay and wealth inequity.

It's no surprise that the rule making for HR 1 is attempting to limit women's access to federally backed student loans.

It's meaningful...receiving this recognition with Rep Justin Ruffridge.

We laughed about how being photographed together could hurt us politically.

That it's not only working together but being friends that is the real threat.

The threat to whom, I wonder (rhetorically).

Maybe it's not that some action shots aren't winners, it's that I am incapable of having a winning action shot taken.

I'm often surprised at the number of people who think elected office/serving the people is a competitive sport.

There should never be winners AND losers.

Only winners.

If you pass good policy, we all win.

If I do, we all win.

This is literally the largest group project ever.

A TIMELY REMINDER :-)}

The US Postal Service has announced Operation Santa is accepting letters from children: 123 Elf Road, North Pole 88888.
Letters and presents are great; however, the greatest gift is love.
Be sure to love, nurture, and protect our children, especially those who are vulnerable.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

On tonight's Sunday story, a saga of ACA insurance premium subsidies...

The story goes a little like this:

1. Subsidies end.
2. Insurance premiums go up.
3. You can't afford insurance.
4. You get sick.
5. You end up in the emergency room because you have no other option... 1/🧵

What's happening on Nov. 7? Is the Supreme Court voting on same-sex marriage?
A former county clerk from Kentucky says that religious freedom should have allowed her to legally refuse to marry same-sex couples. Here are the arguments.

My immediate answer was Eleanor, but after re-reading FDR's "Second Bill of Rights" State of the Union address I might be changing my answer.

Over $1 trillion loss in Medicaid spending over the next ten years, millions of people will lose access to food assistance, no more student loan forbearance, and so many more losses for those simply struggling to get by...all so the ultra rich can get more tax breaks.

Today's #sundaystory covers the tyranny of the majority...

Tyranny of the majority (or masses) happens when the majority group ignores minority interests.

In a democracy, this happens when the majority legislates solely for its own benefit, ignoring & oppressing minority needs or interests. 1/🧵

Hey, know how we passed the largest increase in school funding in our state's history?

I negotiated and collaborated with Republicans to earn their support.

That's what you do when you are in the Majority.

HR 1 eliminated work exemptions from kids aging out of foster care for food assistance.

1 in 4 kids aging out are at risk of experiencing homelessness due to multiple risk factors/challenges/barriers.

So, while these very vulnerable kids struggle to find a home, they will also starve.
It is easy to bury the lead when aggregating data.

While August's national unemployment rate was 4.3%, for people aged 20 to 24 it was actually 9.2%.

For Black women it was 7.5%, up from 5.4% since January.

A real look at the data tells us the ships are starting to sink ya'all.
