@feytaline.bsky.social and I finished the main ending of Road to Empress. I feel like we did get better at this game over time, but sometimes you just have to try all of the bad options, knowing you can't fix this, just to be sure

I finished a book! In 10 years I've written an entire book... 5 times. Three were part of the same series, two standalone. I wonder if doing more planning would increase the success rate?

I got hit in the head by a kickball, like dead center top of the skull. No one took responsibility or apologized. One of my 8th graders found out and started interrogations. Resulting in this interaction.

My 5th grade boys*: didn't enjoy dissecting the owl pellet, felt sick and quit early
My 5th grade girls: coming up with new techniques to get gunk off the bones, gleefully leaving class with bags full of bones
