On a level, I don’t care. I don’t care right now whether a woman president is around the corner. I care about whether the president extrajudicially murders people. I don’t care to have a woman who does that, just like I wasn't especially excited to have a Black man doing that.

The only thing I needed to read about the “what just happened” shutdown. I freudianly typed “shitdown” at first. It was a shutshow. And we have lost so much.

The only thing I needed to read about the “what just happened” shutdown. I freudianly typed “shitdown” at first. It was a shutshow. And we have lost so much.

Spouse and I had a fun time watching #SpinalTap II at our small town cinema with 2 other people… the nostalgia was thick and the cameos fun, but the best part was finding out about drummer Valerie Franco, who beat new life into the Tap!

Wow I just watched the documentary about #Devo on Netflix. I was familiar with their hits as an Mtv tween in the early 80s and I’ve dug Mark Mothersbaugh’s work in cartoons and other shows, but hadn’t realized they were so amazing, and spawned in the aftermath of the murders at Kent State - whew!!

I had not thought of nor realized this but I believe it is true. And the fascists who have seized power with the complicity of millions of white Americans are moving swiftly to dismantle all that was fought for, while the rest of us white Americans are sitting dumbfounded.
Without the Civil Rights movement, there is no non-Western European immigration in this country. Everyone who has arrived in this country since 1965 owes the Black civil rights struggle an enormous debt of gratitude.

I recognize one of my favoriteCongresspersons ever, @jayapal.house.gov but I would be interested to know who the sensible young white man is and the context of the exchange. Bottom line: mass deportation of undocumented worker HARMS & does NOT help US workers.
