Your honor, I submit that we’re not dealing with a credible witness. He has already testified that he is the eggman. Now he’s reversed himself and claims to be the walrus.

Brian Dewan built this desk for me more than thirty years ago. Since then I’ve taken it apart and moved it five times. It’s now in it’s sixth studio and being readied for it’s fourth decade of service.

Most of the power authoritarians have is freely given. We should not comply with them in advance.

Trump is far weaker than he looks. So is the GOP. We should draw them out, drain them at every opportunity, and fight for people’s wellbeing at every turn.

We have been sent here to fight for people.
AOC: I think there's two things that are happening at once: One, there absolutely is an unprecedented abuse of power, destruction of norms, erosion of our government and our democracy in order to prop up an authoritarian style of governance

However, they are weaker than they look…

We are fast becoming a banana republic, with two standards of justice. If you oppose the leader, you go to jail just for speech. If you're a loyalist, you get immunity for your crimes.

That's what happens in Iran - not the United States. This is a decision moment for America.

Are they repointing or is it something more drastic?
Strolling around San Diego today I visited this monument depicting a sailor sexually assaulting a dental hygienist on V-J day. The name of the 25 foot high computer generated kitsch, if you weren’t already creeped out by what it depicts, is “Unconditional Surrender.”

oh yes the same people who acted like they were being murdered when they had to put a piece of cloth over their faces definitely understand the concept of shared sacrifice
Rep. David Joyce on Trump saying girls should have fewer dolls: "The idea that the Christmas trade is already starting to slow down and there might be less around, I get it. I think the American people will understand that because the American people understand shared sacrifice."
Time to deliver a pizzaball!
Minuteman Statue, Lexington MA

Given the ongoing debate about how we commemorate our history I just want to add a shoutout to D. Boon and the Minutemen, punk rock soldiers who deserve their own monument.

Two-thirds of NYers support city-owned grocery stores. Three-fourths support free buses. Nearly 80% support a rent-freeze.

I'm running for mayor to deliver these exact policies.

Our campaign is surging because unlike Andrew Cuomo, we know what working people need and deserve.

I think about this comic too. It feels so relevant now, and as grim as it is, it ends on a kind of optimistic note (for Crumb).
Harding and Grant had scandal-plagued terms, W. Harrison and Garfield didn’t survive long enough to make a mark. Hayes, who lost the popular vote, was installed in a backroom deal to end Reconstruction. McKinley, lionized by the current president, didn’t rate having his name spelled correctly here.
Not to dump on Ohio, which has some fine qualities, but this gallery of Ohio born presidents doesn’t exactly make the case for great leadership.
