Australian radio host legend Phillp Adams tweeted 'Vale Robert Crumb' a few hours ago.
I cannot find anyone else reporting or mentioning it. Anyone heard anything, or any idea why he would tweet that?

the last thing he did while shepherding the company was release the ugliest, least popular car in modern history. why do they think going back would help it

DC hiring a non-comics artist to redesign Supergirl's costume, and that person just delivering the Michael Turner design is some funny shit.
All the 00's thinkpieces about how the costume was everything wrong with comics and now it's back, plus Turner is the one influence not acknowledged 🤣

Just saw Fantastic Four trailer. Ok.
So they're doing the Michael Chabon pitch of 60's superheroes crossing into modern world?
I dunno, to me "FF is about family" is something that came later, after the good stuff.

Comics are the best medium, books and movies are for suckers.
Tom Scioli's "Godzilla's Monsterpiece Theatre" has been giving me lots of delight over the last few months, but I actually did a spit-take at this bit:

Miranda once was outraged about a sewerage vent that had a safe sex promo as a condom put on it, claiming it was a war memorial. Positioning herself as a constant victim is her whole schtick.
i don’t understand how, psychologically, a person gets to a place where they interpret sign language as some kind of attack or imposition on their life. like, what the fuck is wrong with you?

RIP Kieth Giffen
I started reading comics in the 90's and I loved the art style he used then was like nothing else on the stands (except for those copying him).
As a writer I loved his Justice League, and the Jaimie Reyes Blue Beetle.
His OMAC run was unexpected highlight of the New 52.

Just listened to Pixies Doolittle (again), and though it's a great album from start to finish, I think side 2 is the best.
Struck me that's pretty rare, most albums have most of best tracks up front.
Trying to think of other albums where the back half is better/stronger than first.

Re-reading Superman: Secret Origins, by Gary Frank and Geoff Johns.
They spend 3 pages on the arrival of Krypto, but never show him on page! The scene cries out for full page splash of Superboy and his dog hugging, but all we get is an off panel bark.
2009 was a dark time for dogs in comics.

Picked this up cheap because I really like the track Natural High on the Jackie Brown soundtrack. Turns out, that song's by a different group, Bloodstone, on their album Natural High 🤦
This was inoffensive R&B to have on in background, no real stand-out moments, but they sure do have great voices.

Not sure what to do for a first post, so here's my tatts - Superman by José Luis Garcia-Lopez, and Hulk by John Romita Sr.
Both tattooed by Lauren Winzer.
