#FridayReads Just finished The Great Believers, and wow. The way the threads entwine, emotion- and plot-wise, is so satisfying, heartbreaking, and well done.
#FridayReads Really getting into the characters of The Great Believers by @rebeccamakkai.bsky.social and excited to see where the story threads are going in both timelines. I previously read and was enthralled by I Have Some Questions For You.

Happy pub day to SLOW GODS by Claire North, a book where I kept asking myself HOW IS SHE DOING THIS? A space opera with a plot that does not stop which is also a meditation on morality in the face of unfolding crisis! A story of love, loss, and power, with humor and verve! Fun, profound, incredible.

And following up on my #FridayReads from 2 weeks ago: The Unveiling by Quan Barry was intense and fascinating. Recommended for fans of psychological horror who can handle some gore and some ambiguity.
#FridayReads Just started The Unveiling by Quan Barry. So far we have an Antarctic cruise that's sure to go terribly wrong, and a narrator I am excited to experience the horrors with.

Reminder: A lot of great books published this year during absolutely bonkers news & world event times. That squashes people talking about them. Keep buying books please, keep borrowing them from libraries, and for the love of all that's good, talk about them. Post about them. 📚

(None of them want to eat persimmons. Or to hear me make this same little wordplay every fall.)
