A painting by Panhandle Slim sharing some timely/timeless wisdom from James Baldwin. #art
A simple, illustrated portrait of James Baldwin on the left side of a bright orange background. Black lettering fills the rest of the panel: “we can disagree and still love each other unless our disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of humanity and right to exist.” - James Baldwin. The panel hangs on a chain link fence near a playground.

Seasonal dinner advice:

1. Acorn squashes, halved & seeded, then par-bake 15-20 min at 400 F
2. Cook 1lb loose breakfast sausage in skillet
3. Mix sausage, panko, 1 beaten egg, parmesan, sage, blk pepper
4. Scoop mixture into squash halves and top with more parmesan
5. Bake 15-20 min longer

A link you’d shared a week or two ago about human cells emitting specific frequencies sent me down a rabbit hole, which then back linked to a back issue from ‘23 talking about Mashed Up and how remixing threatens hegemonic forces.

Mexican Summer just added a gold-vinyl reissue of Connan Mockasin's 2013 record of off-kilter indie-psych-pop, "Caramel." Definitely worth a revisit if you yearn for wavy, pitch-shifted sounds straddling weird and smooth with aplomb.
