I've only seen one juvenile around here, about 5 years ago. Our fish birds are herons - blue and green.

Their photos are so pretty 🥹 We didn't have as many goldfinches out this year as we normally do and I've only ever seen one Oriole. I love colorful birds.

I've been following along in my field guide, trying to compare photos of birds y'all are suggesting to the photos. I appreciate everyone's help. 💗

Alright, I've had a some say kestrel, but while the size seems to match I didn't think it was quite as colorful, although the lighting wasn't great so I maybe just didn't see it. The underside seems to match Cooper's hawk more to me (consulting my field guide photos).

I couldn't make out the coloring that well because of the poor lighting (late in the day and overcast). I was thinking smaller than hawk based on size, but couldn't match anything to my field guide from my video.
