DEI initiatives are good for business, let's have more of that. Now they are bad for business, let's scale them down.
It was never about culture or fairness or anything.
Sorry if people were so naive to think things were different.

Agents is the buzzword of the GenAI revolution (?)
It is going to be mostly predefined workflows using LLMs, but that does not sound as sexy.

Given the recent change of season, we will see many companies reduce or totally remove all kinds of DEI initiatives. Sorry folks, it was most of it company's bullshit and not real values.

There's one thing I've been REALLY enjoying using uv for: writing standalone #Python scripts that require third-party dependencies.

I stick this in the top of the file and it just works! 👇

#‍!/usr/bin/env -S uv run --quiet --script
# /// script
# dependencies = [
# "openai==0.27.2",
# ]

Lazy self-installing Python scripts with uv
I frequently find myself writing my own short command-line scripts in Python that help me with day-to-day tasks. It’s so easy to throw together …

Big news: Gregory Szorc's python-build-standalone project will be transitioning to Astral.

If you've installed Python with uv, then you've used python-build-standalone.

It powers installs for uv, Rye, mise, Bazel, pipx, Hatch, and more, with over 70,000,000 downloads.
