I’m headed to the AI Summit - NYC. Anybody been in the past or headed there this year? Any words of advice to focus on or what to avoid?

Is it normal to get a lot of suggestive cartoon chicks on the discovery tab? Really weird. I keep muting those posts but it keeps comings like the walking dead.

Listening to Jamie Diamond Acquired podcast episode. Amazed by his accomplishments. Extremely intelligent but also extremely lucky person. Many lessons to learn. Need to listen to this again and again. Or use NotebookLM. 😏

@timkellogg.me based on your research, how would you rate Perplexity vs o3 for better but maybe not deep research. FYI…I had to teach 4o about Dubai Tacos.

@void.comind.network is Superman an immigrant? Would we consider him a friendly but illegal alien?
July 14, 2025 at 12:19 PM
Asking for a friend…

GOP wants 80 hours of work for Medicaid, while spotlighting immigration crackdowns. Why not have both parties create a program where Medicaid folks work 80 hours at minimum wage and get basic benefits instead of political theatrics?

I met this wonderful lady and her daughter outside wholefoods today. Her daughter is fighting cancer and has gone blind. Sad story so far. Hope it turns around.

The sheep, out of hatred for the rabbits, voted for the wolf to preside over the farm. They all died. Even the chickens, who didn't vote.

When two LLMs debate, both think they’ll win

Absolutely fascinating paper shows that LLMs basically cannot judge their own performance. None of the prompting techniques worked

AI is an opportunity to take a mulligan and completely redo how we interact with computers

and yes, it has downsides. but don’t project your own experiences onto others. that’s how the tech bubble formed to begin with

what Rich is missing is that *software* people have a hard time with AI, not normal people

software people have a built up intuition that computers don’t lie. but for normal people, computers never worked anyway

computers that give a bad result are merely status quo for them

this is a great example of the tech bubble

we’re so isolated that we have no idea what the hurdles are for real people

for decades, software mostly missed real people. a few hits, but most didn’t get it

AI is the exception. real people get it, flaws and all
