The reason why I get so furious at the people who use "Soviet" and "Russian" interchangeably is because there were a lot of non-Russian Soviets who fought in the Red Army and the Russian Federation wants you to think they're all Russians

Poles are proud of killing Nazis, even if we had to do it hand in hand with Soviets.

Although at that point Soviet army was not very Russian one as they had to patch up horrendous loses.

I think Putin, after a milion dead soldiers in Ukraine and no Janukowych in Kyiv with Trump in disarray and US Army commanded by worse Szoigu, may want to roll the dice again to break the stealmate, counting on Orban, Fico, Babic, Trump, LePen and Farrage to do their part...

The little green men tactic already failed in 2014, when the Russian tried to repeat what they did in Crimea in Kharkiv and Mariupol. They have to be really stupid to try it again.

I think our political beliefs are personal decisions that are shaped by personal experiences and our education. Ideas like "horseshoe theory" or "far-right pipeline" are inherently illiberal to me. They remove the most important part of political engagement. Our individual agency and responsibility.
