All my life, when I've had a bike, I've had *A* bike. Now, I've started a small collection. The old mountain bike is has been lightly tuned. The newer, cheap, mountain bike needs tubes and tires. Cruiser, tires and polish. Peugot is gonna come out of storage. I just want more, different, bikes.

I've advised The Countess to take a 1 year hiatus from watching old Star Trek episodes. She's seen them all. She knows them all by heart. They're great, but she's also missing out on a LOT of absolute top-quality shows and movies on this list right here. *tap tap tap*

Haha. My proposal was a weird one. Riding in the car talking, and she said something perfect. I don't remember what it was, but I responded by looking at her and saying, "Well, now we've got to get married."
Fake proposed to my girlfriend for a joke on holiday. She started crying and was so happy. Felt so bad I couldn't tell her it was a joke. Anyway we're getting married next year.

The Countess got on the bike again today, after much useless overthinking. She has learned to get on and off. She has learned how to start. Now, if she can just remember to use the brakes, she'll be ready to go.

Determined to get project launched. Time passes and scripts need change. Dumped two. Replaced with one new script. I like it. First clean-up pass done. Now on to punch-up. Tomorrow, minor revision on another script. Wednesday, prep and shoot for three days. Now, what will go wrong?

I'm watching this really interesting video about science lies we were taught in school. Multiple presenters change as they go, and all do a good job. Unfortunately, right in the middle, one has made a poor jewelry choice, so all she's saying is "nose ring, nose ring, nose ring."

The front yard used to be divided into three parts by neglected, sickly boxwoods. I'm finally removing the last of them. I'm gonna make that yard big, functional, and pretty. 95% of the job is destruction. 5% will be planting the flower beds in a new location.

My wife commented that she had black lint between her toes because she wore some black socks. That, my friends, is why we don't wear fuzzy underwear.

Last night I rode my bike to the grocery store with the trailer attached, wearing my nice vintage Bergdorf Goodman jacket. I got a lot of "Nice bike" comments. The trailer changes people's perception of the bike SO much. It also makes me safer on the roads. More respect means more safety. @Bikesky

Looking at the City/County Safety Action Plan, and I get to the survey responses. There is one person who responded that uses a bicycle as their primary transportation. You're welcome. #Bikesky

My city just published the 2025 Safety Action Plan. I'm going through upcoming changes. Multiple project incoming bringing protected bicycle lanes on US Bike Route #1 and elsewhere. Renderings show planters being used as separation. Are they doing it right‽ YAY! #Bikesky

Zohran Mamdani doesn’t make me, an American Jew, feel unsafe.

Having the Coast Guard, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, decide that a swastika isn’t really a symbol of hate? That makes me, an American Jew, feel pretty damn unsafe.

In Portland, ICE contends with people in inflatable costumes humiliating them. Chicago, California, and elsewhere it's similar. Now they've come to North Carolina, where we understand how to treat people politely. Here, ICE is starting to feel threatened. They should. Not by me, but I sense danger.

A speeding ticket in North Carolina is going to cost you around $200. I wonder which would have a greater impact on speeding in this state; increasing this cost to $500, or actually having the police enforce the law. I do my part by holding up traffic at the speed limit. I mean, it does say "Limit."

In my quest to do something productive without being complained at/to/about, I'm halfway through raking the yard. I've also chopped down all but the last crappy boxwood. It's going down later today. Also, the Countess had a successful bike lesson.

Dear flat earthers. We are not trying to shut you up. We are not trying to "silence the truth." In reality, we are pointing at you and telling our friends to listen to you, because you're so hilariously full of crap we use you as entertainment.

My wife has very strong opinions on things, and this morning it is her strong opinion that The Sopranos theme song is the greatest TV theme song of all time. I offered alternatives, but in the end I just had to break out the big guns and respond, "Bless your heart."

We used to have a rule. Anyone that sends the military against American citizens is the bad guy. It might not have always been accurate, but it was the rule. Now, it's the President.

Reddit's /r/libertarian used to be such a nice place. I got banned recently for being snarky in a post about Tucker Carlson saying nice things about that Fuentes jerk. If that gets me banned, do I really want to be there anyway? Nope. I'm out.

It's been almost two weeks since we lost Abbie the princess kitty. It hurt a lot, but we've been so busy caring for Seymour in his recovery, we haven't had time to deal with much else. Soon, this one's gonna hurt.

Watching @hankgreen.bsky.social talk about Stonehenge and it occurs to me why it exists. Some guy learned to track the sun with sticks, but they didn't stay. He tried rocks, but some loudmouth jerk kicked them away. "Kick this," he said, and he made it out of huge rocks.

I suspect that the people pulling the strings are starting to feed the dipshit talking points to tank his popularity. The game is keeping him in office until post-mid-term impeachment, giving Vice-Dipshit a chance at 2.5 terms instead of just 1.5.
