I desperately wanted to do some pre-order bonus art for Yule Be Sorry, but after contacting a few artists, I realized I couldn't afford it.

So did I use gen AI?

NO.

And if you can get a vaccine, do it. I had Chik in Haiti in 2014, and I had joint pain for years afterward. I was pregnant at the time and just out of the first trimester, but could have had serious complications if I'd gotten it earlier.

Vaccines rule, basically.

"I've always loved museums," she says,
"but they can be overwhelming for children. For decades now, I've done something called 'playing postcards'
We do
the museum backwards, visiting the gift shop first. Each child gets to choose three postcards. Then they take it in turns to find that particular artwork in the museum and give us a little information about the piece from the details on the postcard, or from any gallery plaque. At the end of this treasure-hunt-style activity, we vote for our favourite in the cafe."

❓ When does the cafeteria close? (Got there at 7:01 and had to resign myself to a vending machine dinner)
❓ When do the nursing shifts change? It's good to meet the new nurses when they come to introduce themselves.
❓ Who will we meet with and when will they come by?

👒A hat or visor to block the bright overhead lights. Sunglasses? Eye mask?
💐Plants or flowers, but parents sent us some, so that worked out. 🥹
😍 Thank you gifts for the nurses. They're so great. Might run out for gift cards before we leave.

Here's what I wish we'd brought:
📱 A stand for her phone. We're constantly propping it against things. It's not ideal.
🍿 Quieter snacks for me. I brought things like carrot sticks and popcorn, but it's hard for her to listen to the crunching.

😷 Hand sanitizer and masks. A lot of people come in and out, and some seem unwell.
👂 White noise machine. It's one of our bedtime sleep triggers anyway and again, it helps block out a lot of ambient machine noise.
🧥 Layers. She's sweating and I'm often cold.
🧴 Lotion.
