Comiket is the big money maker for a lot of artists I know. Especially artists outside of Kanto. Getting people to buy at Osakan, Nagoyan and Fukuokan events is hard unless you're REALLY popular or you have die hard fans. Hell, friend told me they'd preview stuff in other cities but buy @ Comiket.
