I was probably 6 when my dad and I tried to play the Avalon Hill RPG “Lords of Creation”. I don’t know if my dad misunderstood the concept or was trying to make it easier, but character creation involved looking at the monster guide and me deciding I wanted to be a mermaid & I think we stopped there

I was 6! I had a super young mom who missed being able to play D&D with her friends so as soon as I was old enough that she thought I could grasp 1e, she taught me to play 😂
