No warrant, no explanation. Plain clothed men took her to San Diego ICE where she was later released because she has an asylum case. The terror is the point.

Unbelievable. The housing bill the Governor is requiring for the budget deal would eliminate residential prevailing wage for construction workers. The “replacement wage” goes backwards & doesn’t meet the threshold set for fast food or hospital workers in CA. We oppose. #caleg

I’m going to be at the rally in downtown LA tomorrow. We are asking everyone to lift their voice in a peaceful protest! Please do not give the administration what they want. We can fight back without being violent!

Furthermore, reducing important issues to campaign contributions is lazy. Especially when the other side ALWAYS spends more than working people … like Waymo through Google spent far more at Capitol than workers through any union. (Also worker contributions ARE not the same as corporate spending.)

Regulating AI for privacy, safety & jobs should be on every legislator’s agenda. Even if the Governor insists on vetoing almost every piece of legislation. It is a top concern for almost ALL Californians.

Giving up and giving in should not be an option. Keep pushing

Governors keep vetoing these California bills, yet they return every year
Why lawmakers resurrect policy proposals that have been rejected, often with the backing of big donors.

At the state Democratic Party convention, @lorenagonzalez.bsky.social tells the labor caucus: “We have to demand that the future of this Democratic Party [does] not abandon working people in order to please tech bros and people at cocktail parties and billionaires who don't give us a shit about us.”

Thank you @jasonsisney.bsky.social - your values are always on display! … time for others to stand up against this stupidity.

Part of this agenda includes removing barriers - including labor standards. Building shit while creating shit jobs is not what we stand for.
lorenagonzalez.bsky.social
Un regulated AI, Big Tech libertarianism, the deregulation “Abundance” agenda…

If that’s the direction of the Democratic Party, we will lose every National election.
lorenagonzalez.bsky.social
Not yet. I agree they hype themselves in these stories. But, it’s coming and we need to regulate it.

While Trump is trying to slide prohibitions against regulating AI into his budget bill, our Gov & other pro-tech Dems are killing bills w/common sense guardrails on AI. Don’t let any politician gaslight you on big tech, we have to demand regulations.
lorenagonzalez.bsky.social
There is a tech tsunami coming & it’s time for elected officials to stop ignoring the costs of AI to jobs, safety & privacy.
It’s not just driverless trucks & union busting we are worried about. AI could wipe out half of entry-level white-collar jobs in the next 5 yrs.

Speaking next is @californialabor.bsky.social President @lorenagonzalez.bsky.social, who pointed out how there’s one side with all the billionaires and corporate execs, and then there is the side with the workers. Which side are you on? She’s sticking with the unions, 100% of the time!
