last night i had a dream that I was god and i tasked myself with creating a new turtle. only i was using a computer running on windows 98 with some kind of point-and-click avatar design app. i got really picky about the shell's design, switching between five pre-made assets before giving up.

We have a new publication in the journal Ecological Research. Research was led by David Tevs and the McBrayer Lab at Georgia Southern University and quantified how Florida Scrub Lizards, Six-lined Racerunners, and Green Anoles responded to unpaved roads in Florida scrub and longleaf pine ecosystems.

What sound do frogs make, according to different languages.

So far as I can tell, in Latin, frogs ('ranae') croaked ('coaxō'), which also appears to be their onomatopoeia for the frog sound:
coaxō 🐸🏛️?

It's 'croá, croá' in Spanish?

We visited Independencia island in Peru some weeks ago. Besides beautiful landscapes, we were impressed by how the local population of Microlophus lizards illustrates the island syndrome. Males were large, colorful, highly territorial, bold, and most missed fingers/toes. Densities were high.
