Jokes aside, our paper contributes to the literature on gender and politics by looking at how background characteristics interacts with gender bias in selection processes. This is a new take as studies tend to focus on performance metrics after selection to make claims about gender bias in selection

In fact, we find that female cabinet members in high ranking positions "look" more male than men do. Our findings aligns well with words from the great poet Taylor Swift: "If she was a man, then she'd be THE MAN"

New WP! We find: Overall male and female cabinet members have the same backgrounds, but women in high ranking positions, and women in contexts with few women in politics have backgrounds that align more with the archetypal politician. With @jacobnyrup.bsky.social

«Noen barn, inkludert småbarn, ble skutt i hodet av skarpskyttere.»

Somme menneske er i stand til å forsvare all verdas ondskap. Dei som framleis forsvarer Israels rett til å drive folkemord må få god plass i historiebøkene.
Hvordan ser et folkemord ut?
Du er vitne til det, mener en FN-kommisjon.

Huff jeg tenkte på det samme. Sp kan jo fri til FrP og det hadde ikke vært overraskende. Isåfall RIP sosial demokratiet

That makes sense, but it applies to so few voters... So why does it stick? Is it more about the principle or do people just think they will become rich enough so that the wealth tax might actually mean something for them? We need a model to see how wealth tax effects the average voter
louisabo.bsky.social
It will be exciting to follow. But I have to say I don't comprehend how they have managed to make the election about wealth tax when so few people pay it (14% of the population I think) and the majority of those (50%) pays 10.000 NOK or less. Talk about a minority issue.

Very much look forward to the presentation!

You will not want to miss the first EPSS conference. If you have work on courts and adjacent topics in the pipeline, do consider submitting to the dedicated Judicial Politics section

Over the past 21 months of war in #Gaza, more than 17,000 children have reportedly been killed and 33,000 injured. An average of 28 children have been killed each day — the equivalent of an entire classroom.

The violence has to end. Aid must be allowed in. #CeasefireNow
Desperate Situation for Gaza's 1 Million Children
Children in Gaza are enduring catastrophic living conditions, including severe food insecurity and malnutrition. UNICEF is ready to deliver.

“People in Gaza are neither dead nor alive, they are walking corpses.”

The UN has over 6000 aid trucks ready & waiting to enter #Gaza - while Israel engineers mass starvation.

It is sickening, genocidal, inhuman.

When did starvation become an act of self defense? (Ps more people have now been shot by IDF soldiers in line trying to get food than people who were killed on October 7th by Hamas)
