An update from Ludonarrative Dissidents, the RPG-analysis podcast I do with Greg Stolze and Ross Payton. Our episode on DELTA GREEN COUNTDOWN, the classic huge sourcebook of modern espionage horror, is now live for all to hear, and it's a banger.

Meanwhile our backers have early access to [cont.]

Wake up sweetheart.

Wake up sleepyhead.

This is that time of the year when we rip off Fallout box art.

Colony Ship is a systems-heavy dark sci-fi cRPG built on Unreal Engine.

My friend William Bruce West has had a serious stroke. I’ve known him for many many years. Really nice guy who has a wife, 2 kids, and an older mother to take care of. There’s a Gofundme to help the family if you’re in a position to help.

Shadowrun 2E was one of my first RPGs. Yesterday, I woke up and dug back in after a long time away from crunchy trad games.

While researching, I also dug into SINLESS, a Shadowrun retroclone by Courtney Campbell. It was cool!

A short thread about the QOL improvements and innovations in SINLESS.

Really like the idea that you can use one successful company to refute the sustainability of crunch.

Can we use the myriad companies that have crunched and gone under to counter this assertion? Well, no.
I say this with utmost respect, but Taylor is an absolute tool for saying this privately or publicly.
I can say on good authority that it takes 7 to 10 years to develop game development skills to “good enough” to produce commercial game content. 7-10 years plus the cost of a university education.

Bhakashal uses tables to generate content that would make the books prohibitively long. For example, there are hundreds of villages in the marshlands, rather than detail them all, tables are used to generate them.

This blog post has details:
