There's a part of learning, which generative AI completely turns into dogshit, which is *doing something you could not have done before*

Whether it's drawing, playing an instrument, solving a physics problem, organizing an essay, you find yourself doing easily what previously you found overwhelming

Oh shit, all this time I've been writing "abstemonious" and looking like a clown every time I engage issues of abstemony!
🤔 Not certain I understand this week's #AlphabetChallenge #WeekVforVowels, but that's never stopped me before...

Abstemious...Did you know the word "abstemious" contains all the vowels, in alphabetical order? This guy strikes me as being abstemious.

Donald Trump's attacks on Venezuela will gain the US nothing of value and incur terrible costs.

Over the next 1-4 years you will see a lot of analysis and hypotheses and construction of fake nuance before it all turns shitshow and the columnists and FOX anchors and right-wing AIs say...

I’d suggest offering more than one thing- hey can I get you something? We have beer, coke, lemonade and water!
Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

Hey @jonathantweet.bsky.social, he remembers!
Going all the way back to Everway, ive always been fascinated with ways to use the visual arts to build story.

You can always use it representational, but what I am building now is a way to use it obliquely, allowing for fruitful collisions and juxtapositions.

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

Seconded.

Both my kids were delivered by C-section so this gets me, y'know? And no one gets up one day saying, "I think I wanna be a sucker!" I know I could get fooled or scammed by the right pitch... all you can do is be alert, I guess.

But damn.
