Have you ever bought a console shortly before the next generation of that system came out? I bought my Game Boy the same year the Game Boy Colour came out, the N64 a year or so before the Gamecube and the XBOX the same year as the 360's release.

How it returns to a more darker take on Zelda like OOT and Majoras Mask. And due to the popularity of the LOTR movies at the time, we did want to see a Hyrule that was more like Middle-Earth.
