I have been thrilled by all of my battery-powered yard devices. Except for the slowblower, which is a piece of shit.

Minnesota is now lost to the GOP for a generation, but it was already light blue. But maybe Wisconsin (parts of it commute to the twin cities) is lost to them too. And that’s a swing state.

Weird to be in a polycrisis caused by a single man.
We are now seeing the highest gold and silver futures prices ever. This links directly to heavy speculation against the US dollar based on a sense that the US is now experiencing its worst economic misadministration in the period after World War II.

To add to Cheryl's accurate assessment, if polio vaccination levels lag, and especially if the number of unvaccinated communities grow, the disease, eliminated in most of the world right now, could roar back much more quickly than people realize.

These pens (unlike AI) are good for editing, though. A visitor from the Mitsubishi Pencil Company gave me a really good one. It even has a mechanical pencil inside!
yeah, just out of interest, how many people choose the pen on the right for real work or art? See a lot of them in professional workplaces, do you?

Maybe I read too many spy novels, but euro intelligence agencies likely have their own Epstein files. Could this have factored into the Greenland about-face? IDK, I'm just a guy who likes to read John Le Carre while listening to old fusion records.

Interesting leak from a closed-door meeting. Sounds like someone in the room wants him to stick to this position.

I feel like he more than any other politician needs to find a donor who will let him borrow a private plane
Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was spotted earlier today, January 20, 2026, on a plane heading to Laguna Beach as the state of Texas braces for a rare ice threat and arctic cold front.

Who's writing about Minneapolis's effect on Wisconsin politics? MN was obviously targeted bc it's a blue state, but this bleeds into swing-state WI too. One of the Minneapolis-bordering congressional districts (WI-03, held by GOP rep Van Orden) was rated a toss-up two months ago. What about now?

A lot of people disagreeing with this, but think the underrated answer is: "the 'affordability' line hits different coming from a socialist insurgent as opposed to a multi-decade mainstream incumbent."

An important internet dynamic is that, across the board, people with jobs they can be fired from are less able to speak freely than people without said jobs.

The nervous-making thing about Greenland is Trump seems to be motivated by legacy lately. (See: secondhand Nobel.) And regardless of how the Greenland annexation goes (likely the dissolution of NATO, among other v. bad outcomes), that's the kind of thing that goes at the top of any president's obit.
