I’m heading for bus pass territory. I’m trying to write everything down but still struggling to find a publisher. Joint national of UK and NZ. Self-employed.

I dreamt that I was writing case studies about people that had been plunged into poverty and homelessness. I’m a freelancer but I have lots of experience of this. I still think that I have a lot to contribute.

I think what this points to isn't an overdiagnosis of ADHD or autism, the problem a "one size fits all" approach to reasonable adjustments.

Adjustments should be determined based on a careful assessment of need, not diagnosis.
Seen too many of these over-diagnosis news on autism and adhd by medical professionals. One also in TES, and I've read at least four this month.

We need a new medical professional open letter.
It’s time to abolish the monarchy.

Once again thinking about how cool it would have been to be an ankylosaurus

How has the government got itself into the position of standing up for Israeli football hooligans, while criminalising peaceful supporters of Palestine Action?
Ex-NZ Prime Minister Jim Bolger has passed away. I recognise the personal loss for his family/friends but, on a political level, he was responsible for a massive attack on the welfare state, and his policies caused great hardship and division. He was PM in 97 when I came back here.
First past the post in the UK is in danger of awarding unbridled power to a party of fascists and extremists. This is a huge danger to democracy.
Political parties will always have debate and dissent. It goes with the territory.
Get rid of first past the post and the state of play will change considerably.

Here’s an album that is probably grossly underplayed in this house, so #nowplaying is ‘Speaking in Tongues’ by the brilliant Talking Heads…..”Burning down the house”

What information do we need to live and who provides this information?
If life feels difficult at the moment, stop to count your blessings (and never stop believing).
Before we talk about a new train line between Liverpool and Manchester, can we get the existing services working properly? #pointsfailure
I’m not entitled to a free Covid jab anymore even though I’m regularly visiting my 89 year old Mum in a care home.
UK limits on who can get NHS-provided covid vaccines are really strict now; you have to be over 75, or immunocompromised (from a condition/treatment on a list), or be in a care home. It doesn't include those people's carers. Meanwhile, studies continue to show the effectiveness of the vaccine. 1/3
(UK) “It’s really bad, I won’t lie to you” is what the pharmacist told me as she had to deny me the covid vaccine. I got the flu one, no problem. A 74 year old got denied bcs he isn’t 75, so he said he’ll do it next year bcs he cannot afford to pay for private. It’s really bad. 1/4

The ancient ones performed feats of memory, as their culture required them to commit long strings of numbers to their mind palaces.
If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.
No rain in the forecast for a week
October - goth wear optional
I have only finished the first one so I will persevere. It’s full metal jacket on for the next one though!
I just finished watching The Red Riding Trilogy 1974. It’s very dark.
