Old School Craigslist purchase:

Heading into Vegas this morning. Someone's selling a set of dual gas light duty regulators for half of what just one would cost new.

Yes, it's been a crap year for jewelry sales. First half of the year was ok, started tapering off.

Let's just say I work in the kind of office where the boss apologizes in groupchat for needing to come in late, and we tell her to stay home and enjoy a rare day off (she also runs a couple local non-profit children's rodeo orgs, just got back from taking her kids to livestock Nationals in Phoenix.)

Happy New Year!

I feel like I'm genetically incapable to be pessimistic about long-term things.

May All Good Souls who celebrate have a Christmas of sweetness, and abundance of all that is important in your lives.

I need to study his passage more deeply.

Because tomorrow for the Christmas Week Nosh-Fest I am bringing in that Bar Mitzvah standard, the classic honey cake.

I'm not doing one candle at a time.

I'm lighting up all the lights for 8 nights. Because I can.

The Rage is like an old friend welcoming me back to my normal Normal.

Firearm work followed my BJJ Seminar, followed by the Culver's Flavor of the Day and a small order of their fries (fried holiday y'know) made a shitty day better.

Too late for Kiddo but hell yeah. This seems to line up with things I've suspected. Genetics colliding with the environment's New Normal.

Oh hey.

Dollar Tree now has a policy where if you're not paying cash with exact change, they will round up to the nearest nickel.

The world's gone to hell in a hand basket since @breyers.bsky.social left Philly.

Prove me wrong.
December 7, 2025 at 12:22 AM
I actually am taking today off.

Last weekend used me up, Kiddo is hard to be with even when all is going well (and it was.)

One of my projects this chill weekend is writing an essay, "The Discomfort Zone," refusing to seek change because it's easier than changing a barely tolerable situation.

Wickenburg , AZ this weekend!

The best thread on Twitter right now: the woman writing about cannibalistic practices in indigenous people, and her spell check converted Anasazi to Ashkenazi.

She apologized but I now want to find all the Cliffs Dwellers of my people and see if they use red or white Chrain on thigh bone marrow.

It was a good market this weekend. Along with copper pressure clasp cuffs custom for clients, I made these three lovely bits of silver work.
Unakite ring, size 9ish, K2 (granite/Azurite from K2 in the Himalayas) pendant, Unakite pendant.

Next weekend I'll be making more stuff in Wickenburg.
November 24, 2025 at 4:48 AM
Two new pieces made while at the market:

1. K2 Azurite in Granite

2. Unakite in a simple traditional setting. This one sold not long after putting it out.

A nice day at the market today.

This cheered me unreasonably this chilly, rainy morning.
Just stumbled upon this snippet. In Hakata there's a festival in which sacred floats are carried to Kushida Shrine. The view to the sky should not be obscured while on the way, so the overhead expressways the floats go under have "cloud" written on them.

I am wearing wool socks and a heater is pointed at my legs. Low 40's and raining all day.

Life's pretty darned good.

One can only appreciate the evergreen decorative gourd mind.
We're enduring this Cloudflare outage as best we can: in the fetal position, surrounded by decorative gourds.

Oh hah hah Xwitter is down

Oh shite our state's sales tax portal is down less than two days before monthly TPT payment deadline and I still have four client's tpt filing left to do.

Good morning, from a retired 12ish year old heeler.

The feeling of a pre-sunrise morning when a sleeping dog's head rests on a fuzzy wool-sock-clad foot.

I am thoroughly enjoying the drama on X as the infighting over the Epstein stuff has the giant circle jerk turn into a political shark-like feeding frenzy.

Finally getting around to reading the graphic novel "V for Vendetta." It's on openlibrary dot org, a little awkward as the scan cut off one edge of the pages but still a good read.
