I want to take people's advice to just keep trying to meet new people but these things really take so much energy out of me and add so much depression and cynicism when they don't turn out well and I have no idea how people even do it and make good matches other than good luck really

Just watched Bad Boys (1995), not very deep but that classic Bruckheimer production style with some wonderful early Bayhem action is pretty easy to enjoy imo

I feel uncool not being able to appreciate classic hardcore punk but all those monotonous power chords and shouting gets old to me fast. Now post-hardcore that's when they start doing interesting stuff for me

I get that people are just trying to be helpful telling me not to give up socializing or dating but when so many people I try to get involved with in the past while turn out to be weird, unpleasant, dismissive or outright abusive, I really want to give myself a good long indefinite break

Watched Bullet Ballet (1998). Very brutal crime thriller, basically a movie about how urban gang violence is fun and sexy, especially if you have a gun. Quite good. It's by the same guy who did Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989) so you know what this movie's about

Another bad take I'm always thinking of is them complaining Boyhood wasn't a generic melodrama when the film basically outright tells you why it isn't in the end. They're funny when they're making fun of bad VHS tapes but they've just never been that insightful imo!
I'm still always thinking about when they pretended they knew more about black film history than Spike Lee or when Mike complained Avatar was disrespectful to the US military. Those videos are really old now but still lol I don't know why people propped them up as the best film critics on youtube
