#Detroit #Tigers Almost five hours and 15 innings, Detroit battled the Mariners in Game 5 of the ALDS for a chance to advance to the ALCS and extend its season. One of the most memorable winner-take-all postseason games in Major League history, definitely the longest. ~ Thanks, MLB - great story!
Tigers' season ends after marathon 15-inning heartbreaker in Game 5
SEATTLE -- Tigers manager A.J. Hinch walked into the T-Mobile Park interview room Friday night with the remnants of tears in his eyes, his voice cracking as he tried to put the end of his club's seaso...

If you live in #Michigan and followed this #Tigers game yesterday, you are in a happy place right now. It has been 57 years since the Tigers scored that many runs in a postseason game. It's good they had runs to spare, since one of the calls seemed a little off the mark. Yesterday was a good day!

The Tigers scored nine runs in Game 4 of the ALDS against the Mariners to force a decisive Game 5.

The last time Detroit scored that many runs in a postseason game was in the 1968 World Series.

I'm following the Kansas City Chiefs a little bit after their loss last night to the Jacksonville Jaguars. I hadn't heard this untrue story before but I do like Snopes and this is a story. I like stories. #jaguars #chiefs #footballstories

I saw the #Lions SNF game, where Montgomery, in his hometown of Cincinnati, scored a TD. His sister was there, the first time out after a bad car accident that had paralyzed her. Montgomery is an Eagle Scout. I like the stories. #football #eaglescout
David Montgomery says Scouting helped him recover from major injury
At first, it looked like he would require surgery that would keep him from playing for the rest of the season. But Montgomery had other ideas.

Thanks for your art. This is a great way to show how some rules are not as neutral as they might first appear. "Black men are more prone to a skin condition that leads to itching, inflammation, increased likelihood of scarring. A no-beard policy may unfairly impact those in some religious groups."
From Beards To Bias: How Neutral Rules Mask Racism
Neutral rules aren’t neutral. From Black men with razor bumps to Sikhs and Muslims, beard bans show how uniform policies quietly enforce exclusion.

I am starting to watch a little football for a few reasons, including to keep a friend company, who could use some of that. So I watched the first half of the GB / TX game. I got up, wondered what the final score was. I can understand this post. So thank you, Cooper. We need more of this idea.

Dr. Ian Roberts has been the superintendent of Iowa's largest school district since 2023. He is in the news today because he has been detained. Possibly related to his appearance? Other reasons are pending.

This cartoon inspires me that we have some good people who want to share the truth that aligns with our Constitution. I like the cartoonist with the pen there on the right side. And the journalist on the left. Yes this group is a bit rag tag, but 250 years ago, we were rag tag also.

This is a good overview of the POTUS. It helps us to see that we live in a dystopian time, but this might be the new norm, and the future might be hard to imagine.

this art shows what has been going on for a long time and might still be. And the people in power don't want to clean it up. Hits too close to home.

Now I get this one. A lot of people are going to be working longer than they expected with our new system of government. I wonder what FDR would think about how things are going? I'm glad I have a nice boss. (myself) but still ...

I'm not sure I understand this cartoon, but I sure like it! It's easy to remember too. So I might get it more if it's sitting there in my head. Or standing there. Topsy turvy thing. Like today's news?

I sure like this story by #BillMcKibben about using solar to be self-sufficient. My town Albion Michigan has thousands of acres of solar panels just north of town. The deer that used to live there came into town. The good old boys are going to do a little bow hunting in city to help.

It connects with people when our personal experiences align with the seasons. These tasks are often shared with others, who have very different views on many issues. Good job on the art related to your grill assembly. Food is a great connector! The weather is another shared experience. Thank you.

This is a great one for Labor Day weekend, when a lot of us are cooking out, no matter who we voted for. Some of us get our news from different sources, so we think differently. But this cartoon might break through where a news story might not. Thank you, Pat. I like it when you share your art.
