Love working in higher education. Have always had rescued dogs and cats (almost all from abusive situations). Philadelphia is my home (yes, I say "wudder"). Accessibility advocate & teach how to make content electronically accessible. Democrat.
Watching curling at the Olympics and I swear I just heard someone on the Czechoslovakian team squawk like an angry giant chicken.

Jamie Raskin has my undying respect. Pam Bondi is something I would scrape off the bottom of my shoe.
Raskin to Bondi: "You're not showing a lot interest in the victims. Whether it's Epstein's human trafficking ring or the homicidal government violence against citizens in Minneapolis, as AG you're siding with the perpetrators and ignoring the victims."

Freakin' Nazis. I grew up with Holocaust survivors. EVERY ONE of those "representatives of the people" who go along with this need to be OUT. And we gotta nag the f*** out of them while they're still in office. Bug them until they grow a pair or decide not to run again. Shame them; they deserve it.

Bondi needs to be jailed for all her transgressions. How she can live with herself is beyond my comprehension, but then again I have a conscience and a soul.
Likely-historic photo by NBC News of all the Epstein victims asked to raise their hands if they've not yet been asked to meet with the DOJ as Bondi testifies in foreground

More props to Bad Bunny and his thoughtful, stunning, and danceable halftime show. Deep respect to the multifaceted man. Mixed with more than a little appreciation of his yummitude.
I guess I am not a natural Bad Bunny fan, but what's not to like when he collaborates with a real historian and his Super Bowl half time show makes headlines, not because of a wardrobe malfunction, but because it provoked an unhinged rant from POTUS on the satirically named Truth Social.
Pop star Bad Bunny needed a Puerto Rican history scholar. UW–Madison had just the one.
Bad Bunny collaborated with UW–Madison history professor Jorell Meléndez-Badillo on Puerto Rican narratives that accompany the new album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.”

What the Trump regime is doing is exhausting. But they want you to be overwhelmed and exhausted to the point where you reach oversaturation and stop trying. We can't stop. We continue pushing against these backwards, small-minded, unhappy people. And smile whenever we can. They've forgotten how.

Loved the halftime show. So did our beautiful Puerto Rican girl, Winnie. She wears her love in her fur pattern:🇵🇷🇺🇸🏈🎶💃

Green Bay politicians are right up there with ICE for not caring if their own people die. And good on the people trying to make a positive difference.

This is heinous. Get it to together right now, Green Bay. Remember elections will happen and we will remember.

Windchill in the Philly area is going to be -30 this weekend. Even North Dakotans are going, "Damn, that's cold."

I can curse in many languages. Off the top of my head, the best cussin' languages I can think of are Yiddish, Greek, and German. Yiddish is my favorite, but that might just be because I know so many cuss words in it!

This is awesome. Perfect. 100% Philadelphian.

Dammit, we need a Gritty emoji.
We put on an all-Yiddish community production of fiddler on the roof in Philadelphia and cast member and local artist Sofie Rose Seymour created the most amazing show poster that ever was

We could have been in a symbiotic relationship with this bird for 1.9 MILLION YEARS. Even if we haven't been relying on each other that long, this is still so cool (and tasty!). www.youtube.com/shorts/xrCeq...

On this date 73 years ago, sweets rationing in Britain came to and end and children and adults emptied shelves of sugary goodies. But sugar itself was still rationed; that would go on until September 1953, and meat was rationed until July 1954. 🍭🍬

TIL about James Parks. I've never been to Arlington Cemetery, but when I go I'll look for his grave and ask why it isn't included on the tour.

Well-put.
Rather than acknowledge that the very presence of this raging jackass destroyed the audience base, they are telling him that no one is coming because the building itself is lacking. The emperor has no clothes--or taste. A delusional vulgarian to the end.

Andy, our old (between 14-16 years old) boy trotted in, stared at me, let out a long fart, and then stared at me again.

Anyone who has a dog knows he just eloquently informed me he had to go outside.

And dog owners know I found that adorable, if not a bit smelly.

I'm trying so hard to not wish a public official have another stroke. But it's getting more and more difficult.
The very well-accepted term for "stripping the legal protections of a minority group and then sending a paramilitary force to carry them away" is "ethnic cleansing."

They are planning to ethnically cleanse Springfield, Ohio.
Breaking MS NOW:

The Trump admin is now eyeing Ohio for immigration enforcement operations that could begin as early as next week.

The operation is expected to target Haitian immigrants — with temporary protected status for Haiti expiring on Feb. 3.

Man, it's times like these when I want a personal on-demand chef to make me a yummy quiche for breakfast. But I am not wealthy and will settle for scrambled eggs and toast made by my loving husband.

When I can walk again I'll make us a nommy quiche. It's good to have goals.
This Farmhouse Quiche is giving cozy‑kitchen, slow‑morning, “come sit and eat with me” energy. 🥧✨

88-year-old Jane Fonda has more cojones than most politicians. And more energy and clarity too. "They arrested the wrong Don" is a great catchphrase and summation of the situation.
I'm gonna buy a few tops that feature lemons. I wonder if they'll arrest me for the improper wearing of citrus fruit.🍋
JANE FONDA: “I know Don Lemon. My husband created CNN. And I will fight for their right to speak… they arrested the wrong Don. This is how autocrats act. We can’t fall for it.”
