Screenwriter (psychological political thrillers and dramas).

It’s the little shorts that make this craft memorable.

Something just occurred to me. I have tried to avoid it for most of my time writing, but the more I do this, the more I have to soberly acknowledge that I am always going to have a political agenda in my screenwriting. There is no avoiding it. #scriptsky #scriptsky+
It’s so much fun, in a feature, figuring out how to make sure a scene starts late and doesn’t overstay its welcome. My rule of thumb is two to three pages. Less. Recently, I had a reader notice and praise it. Made my day. #scriptsky #scriptsky+

Okay, GM Connie Chang, that was a low blow. I have elected to defend #scriptsky against the truth.

Because we can't handle the truth!
Fellow writers: I am deeply saddened to share that if we want the rewards of having written, we must submit to the mortifying ordeal of writing

Just want to randomly bring this up. Never underestimate the impact you make when you sprinkle in some cultural food, music, languages (for fuck’s sake, Aramaic is dying out!), and dynamics in your scripts. It's what preserves the human experiment. #scriptsky

My first #Storypeer feedback came in. I’d give the feedback and the actionable "Areas for Improvement" a 10/10. A truly professional reader. I got lucky!

Those of you in #scriptsky who haven't tried it yet, don't sleep on it!

Well, until I found my current group, I was in several others (not at the same time), here’s my takeaway.

1 - group too large/too many voices

2 - not enough balance between experienced and newer writers

3 - no common goals/ground

4 - restriction of genres

5 - no structure

Ok. I’m going to spit out some trivia about me, and I’ve realized this is why I like to talk in paragraphs (which is probably why sites made the character limit). I’m a shy speaker, but I have a lot of things I want to say. So I write the way I would speak if I weren’t shy. With a lot of words.

Hi #scriptsky, I want to do a quick survey. For those of you who believe in writers groups and for those who do not, as well as anyone who has been in one or wanted to be in one but has not yet, I would love to know this: what is the biggest thing you feel is missing from those groups? #scriptsky+

Omg I felt guilty about only giving TWO coins for my TEN PAGE short 😭 but one coin for 131 pages?!??? That’s insane…

Out of the many "important" scenes I write in my scripts, my favorite to write are the quick little ones where a character is in their element, like this one, while still connecting to the overall theme. #scriptsky

Putting Star Wars on the list with Lord of the Rings as stories these losers are not allowed to reference until they take a test proving they’ve understood the material 😡

Not going to name and shame, but this is why we’re discussing this in #scriptsky 😬

If this happens to be you, you need to be upping it to maybe five. Certainly not one. I’m not here to shame anyone, I just want folks to read your script. *I* want a reason even if it is 131 pages. But not like this.

I just saw two feature length scripts offering just one token for the reader’s time and I was shocked. Given it defaults to 3 that’s a conscious choice made in bad faith. Readers put in time and energy - don’t insult that.

Take what I’m saying with a grain of salt, since I just started this today. But, as reflected in my vote, I wholeheartedly embrace the open market system. Give users free will, while also letting them see the consequences of offering only one token for a hundred-page script.

First #Storypeer feedback done and sent!

One could say the script I read was… an absolute blast (off 🚀).

Claimed my first script from Storypeer. Can’t wait to read!!

It’s really not about the tokens.

(Okay, I won’t say no to those tokens.)

I’m writing a story centered on deconstruction. A) It’s not as simple as fascists just “changing their opinions.” Beliefs like that take a painfully long time to unravel. B) Change is possible at the end of that road, but --
Bluesky idea: if people who didn't agree with you change their opinions so that they do agree with you, why not be happy that you are making progress - rather than complaining that they are "only just catching up"?

As I’m finishing its second draft, I sometimes can’t help but wonder how far I’ll be able to go, because I’m writing with a clear stance on an insanely “off limits” political issue. My number one goal is to smother it with nuance, but my conclusion is set. Time will tell. #scriptsky

To celebrate me almost being done with the second draft of The Orchard Fallacy, here is a quick snippet.

Once you know who Apollo is in this story, you will come to realize that Martha was too nice to him by giving him that elbow.

Just a little thing #scriptsky I keep thinking about. I like to push myself beyond the possible (which can be/is a toxic mindset). I sometimes try to "go above and beyond" with 1st drafts, which honestly is not great. More than that, I wanted to do fewer shorts and feature after feature.

I’ve been outlining a short film script (8 pages / minutes) that takes place on this mountain, and I’ll be shooting it there sometime this year. Today I hiked it while picturing the dialogue and scenery in my head. Does that count as a productive #scriptsky day? 😂
January 24, 2026 at 8:18 PM
So I’m at the stage where I have to disassemble some of what I like to call “killer” dialogue. I go nuts with it in a first draft, but the second draft is a sobering reminder that some of it has no place in my script. #scriptsky

Until we meet again 😢
