This career path is extremely stressful and the income is unpredictable- you absolutely need secondary support systems, usually in the form of a partner with benefits.
With social systems being slashed, it’s never been more true. You have to have a base level of stability before taking the plunge.

Don’t know who needs to hear this but stop quitting your job to do artist alley and conventions, there are no benefits or health insurance and it is so unpredictable and the competition is worse than trying to get into Harvard lol
