And I'm a librarian. I believe in access to information. But I've also watched the demise of my own profession due to some belief that everything should always be freely available. It's just not sustainable.

Yes, when they were just getting into digital subscriptions. It was a marketing strategy. At this point in time, given the financial strains on legitimate journalism, they simply cannot afford such. (And 2010 was 15 years ago, now.) ;)
