SCOTUS in Trump v. US held that POTUS has broad executive immunity in part based on the fear that failing to recognize broad immunity would lead to a cycle of partisan prosecution. Fast forward to the current moment and we have...partisan prosecutions.

It's completely inconsistent with the rule of law & democracy.
