Having intersectional minority identities in the West does not, unfortunately, confer enhanced appreciation of nuance in identities abroad. Non-Western experiences and identities are ignored or flattened. One even finds people weaponize their minority status in the West against minorities abroad.

Two things must happen to optimise public transport in Jakarta:

- Ensure a distributed, integrated, and punctual network of all transport services.
- Encourage a transport-first culture for all passengers.

Jakarta’s working so well on the former yet they forgot to do the latter.

A rare #Rafflesia hasseltii was re-discovered in the forests of #Sijunjung, #SumateraBarat, #Indonesia.

Full credit goes to Dr. #JokoWitono of #BRIN, biologist #SeptiAndriki, #Iswandi of the community forest management institute, and the rest of the #Indonesian team.

That’s it.

That’s the post.

Tech boosters always respond to criticism by saying some folks said the internet would never take off, ecommerce would fail, and social media would fizzle.

Sure.

But what about all the criticisms and negative predictions early indications of harm that turned out to be true?

It's so interesting how with the different languages you know or are fluent in, you're good in and need improvement in different areas. I have a wider vocabulary in English than in Mandarin, but I can probably explain Mandarin grammar rules better than English ones. #langsky

The animated illustration style of GoFood’s preparation flow in the #Gojek app is very endearing.

I have long-term plans to divest from using food delivery and ride hailing entirely, so I’m going to miss these experiences when the time comes.

In the theatre of fascism, there are two sides:

Humanity™ and those who aren’t part of the #MajorityWorld.

The recent #Bluesky discourse about whether the #MajorityWorld is “better off” being:

(1) murdered with bombs by the privileged

or

(2) murdered with bombs by those with stripes of marginalisation

…proves the “We Miss #Twitter 1.0” cohort only want spaces that do not have actual Humanity™ in it.

There is never an excuse to deny any trans person their chosen identity, that being said insisting that your community should eschew solidarity with brown people getting exterminated in order to secure their existence is abhorrent in any context.

You are not a leftist if you think people in the Global South getting murdered suddenly is less bad if it is a woman, a transwoman, a gay person, or whoever.

Murdering people is bad, even if they have a different skin color than yours.

No, I won't be blending the words into an abbreviated compound.

I hope #JamesLee goes for harder sounds in future songs and explores the possibility of owning the genre in the Korean language.

There is something really charming about the Guangzhou City God Temple. It's tiny, and isn't really a tourist attraction. From what I overheard, most people there are locals who happens to be in the area and decides to pray for a few minutes. Things are everywhere here, it's messy but lived in.
