A lot of people mean well when talking about Latino identity, but some of the "Latino" discourse around Bad Bunny's #BadBunnyUnaMas concert rubs me the wrong way. Some folks unintentionally erase the message: this was PUERTO RICAN, not
"Latino" or anything else.
Celebrate it, enjoy it...but call it what it is
It was held on the 7th anniversary of Hurricane María's landfall. It was a showcase of working-class Puerto Rican culture, including the houses like the ones we grew up in. It was about reguetón, Bomba y Plena, the celebration of the African roots of this genre, and most importantly, the songs.
The songs are about Puerto Rico-whether they're about sex, love, friendships, going to the beach, joy, sadness, nostalgia, missing friends, the diaspora, our accents, our language, our quirks. All of those are rooted in Puerto Rico, nowhere else.

Almost done with Star Trek TNG Season 1, first time watch. I know this season gets a bad rap (and I can understand why) but I gotta say, right now, at this very moment, I’m really enjoying spending time with a bunch of intelligent human beings that just want to do good throughout the universe.
