En 2019, Manes la embajadora notificó que se tendría que despedir de El Salvador, ya que el Senado estadounidense informara que Ronald Douglas Johnson sería su sucesor en el cargo.

Ese mismo año, el presidente de la República, Nayib Bukele, otorgó a la embajadora la Orden Nacional José Matías Delgado, en el grado Gran Cruz Placa de Plata.

El presidente agradeció a Manes el fuerte compromiso con El Salvador, sobre todo por buscar soluciones en problemáticas como pobreza, inseguridad, generación de empleos, entre otros.

«La Embajadora Manes supo desde hace meses que dejaría El Salvador, pero nunca dejó de trabajar, no detuvo su labor, sino que la aumentó. Ella no se limitó a ejercer su cargo, sino que se comprometió a sacar adelante el país, es algo que debemos de agradecer porque demuestra que tenemos en nuestro principal socio a un verdadero aliado para evitar la migración y generar oportunidades de empleo y de desarrollo económico y social», afirmó Nayib Bukele en ese entonces.
