This is quite telling. Our top 3 progressive passers are 2 defenders and our goalkeeper. Via @markstatsbot.bsky.social

0-0 against Brentford and Vic gets booked for time wasting. Tells you everything you need to know about our ambitions.

The common misconception about Ange was that he was too attacking. I think it was more that he kept playing the same way, even when the available players weren't capable of it. As always, the board lurches in the opposite direction, and this is the result. 😴

Rinse and repeat.
Why do Tottenham play like a plucky underdog from League One against PL opposition in the cup, regardless of who they're playing?

I'm no xG expert, but this doesn't seem good.

This is the best description of how Tottenham play I’ve heard all season. Thomas Frank is just smashing all of the buttons on the controller and hoping for the best.
Tottenham play football like me when I try and go up a difficulty level on Fifa

I’m so glad Frank doesn’t let Spurs shoot from distance. It never works.

Awful in possession, wide open at the back, and a keeper having a mare. Not an ideal combination for @tottenhamhotspur.com

It feels like one step forward and two steps back at the moment.

Take him off now before he fucks his hamstrings.

Embarrassing. Didn't lay a glove on them. Pathetic. I thought we should have kept Ange but saw Frank as a sensible appointment. Fuck that. That was as bad as anything under Conte, Mourinho, Nuno etc. Chelsea aren't even that good but we made them look amazing. Big questions.

I’m sorry, this is worse than anything under Ange last season. At least then we had a go. This has been akin to a lower league team playing against a big team in the cup. Hopeful long balls and no quality.

I knew our injuries were bad but this is ridiculous.
November 1, 2025 at 4:20 PM
I was led to believe that we might have to sacrifice some attacking play to shore up the defence. I could just about get on board with that short term, but to be this bad in attack and so wide open at the back against a team that just sacked their manager is a tad worrying.

It's not surprising that no Tottenham players appear in this chart. An excellent article on Adam Wharton highlights why many consider him an ideal target for Spurs. #COYS www.nytimes.com/athletic/671...

Just finished watching Atomic on Sky. What a load of shit. Ridiculous plot & bad acting, with no jeopardy because it’s so unbelievable. Some parts are so far-fetched & cliched I wasn’t sure whether they were supposed to be funny - pretty sure they weren’t. Stuck it out hoping it’d improve…it didn’t.

That felt like our games in the latter stages of the Europa league only minus any drama or jeopardy.

My VAR take: give each captain a cricket-style challenge – 1 per half, keep it if you’re right. Big calls only (pen/goal/red), not throw-ins. No more 1mm offside re-refereeing. Refs can say: use your review…or shut up. Return to the original idea of VAR, which was to stop howlers.
Everybody should absolutely view this as an invitation to drop your spiciest soccer takes.
lol I’m gonna need bluesky’s biggest soccer post ever to balance out all the politics engagement im burying myself under.

I'm not sure why Tuchel hasn't brought Djed Spence on. The result isn't in doubt, and Lewis-Skelly hasn't had the best game, so it's an opportunity to let him show what he can do. #ENGAND

We need to tax wealth not work.

Why? Because usually no matter how hard you work, the compound interest on huge wealth grows much faster than your wages + the rich use this passive income to buy all the assets.

Someone made a game to show this:

I just played "Idle - The Wealth Race"!

I worked hard and earned £15,750, but The Rich did literally nothing and ended with £10,500,000 (~667x more).

Surely MOTD can get a better pundit than Rooney? A fantastic player but an average manager and seems to offer little insight so far. I’d love to see them pair an analyst with an ex pro to get a better tactical insight rather than tired cliches.

Why are India still batting?! Even this England side will never chase this so they’re just giving themselves less time to bowl us out. #engind

I feel the same way. I’d add that the “I always win in my second season” quote was about his methods clicking, which we didn’t see due to injuries and prioritising the EL. I would have waited to see if that changes next season with a better squad and the lessons learned this year.
After a few days of reflection, I'll start by staying, fair play to the board / Levy for sticking with Ange during the season. I assume they felt his position was untenable, yet they didn't fire him and in return he won the Europa League.

Yet, I am still irked by the board's decision, because;
