It is starting to sink in... My last microbiology lecture is coming up. June 30th is my retirement date. Then what? Well, I hope to be a #MicrobialEvangelist, doing outreach, putting on workshops, podcasting, my own work in my little lab, etc. But it’s pretty daunting. Please wish me good luck.

I do not know why, but New Zealand has always drawn me. I have only been once, and it was wondrous. But years before we went, I bought these greenstone necklaces for the family. It suggests family and infinity to me. I wear mine always.

With all respect to @GIANTmicrobes, who are increasingly moving away from microbial plushies: we need another vendor of toy plush microbes, focusing only on the microbial. Please. So many great topics! PS. Look at the #MicrobialMask Jennifer Quinn made for me years ago.
