The word 'Orwellian' is overused, but calling countries with active human rights protections 'human rights violators' is pure doublespeak.
Countries that have abortion access, DEI policies or protection for LGBTQ+ people will be considered “human rights violators“ by the Trump regime

We’re in the upside down.

I went to the theater and apparently subtitles (technically supertitles; it was part of some festival) are a thing. That was fun. Hard to follow both the text and the things happening on stage though.

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

The Mountain Goats – Rocks in my Pockets

For me, The Mountain Goats (@themountaingoats.bsky.social) will always be the one-man lo-fi band I fell in love with in the late 1990s. I know they’ve released a million albums as a full band since but it still doesn’t feel ➡️

I am a sucker for songs that switch between two languages and B.A.S.T.A.R.D. switches between three: French, English and Cameroon pidgin English. Alternating between rappers (Jovi and Reniss, both from Cameroon) is another weak ➡️
