t's a fun feature. @martinedwardsbooks.bsky.social 's Rachel Savernake series include those too, IIRC.

The passage also reminds me of an article I read on Poe & Borges as both detective and cosmic fiction authors. How their affection for logic puzzles spoke to their views on the universe & Divine.

The Moai Island Puzzle dedicates a page to a traditional Challenge to the Reader informing you that you have all the clues needed to solve the case before reading the solution. I like the grandiosity of the closing statement to this passage: "Please bring order to this cosmos with your own hands."

Keeping it light and very engaging today with this set of short stories. Something very satisfying about the short mystery. Guess quickly because it’s over in a flash. Excellent intro by @martinedwardsbooks.bsky.social that prompted me to make a list of mysteries new to me to look out for.

Speaking of things that are 99p on Kindle, should I be suspicious of the very much non-British Library versions of ECR Lorac novels that Amazon is trying to punt to me on a daily basis?

I'd be happy to pay SIGNIFICANTLY more than 99p (maybe even a whole pound) for a new book in the series😉

I've just finished Scandalize My Name by Fiona Sinclair, a crime novel set in the mid-1950s. Sadly, the author died quite young and only published 5 novels. I really enjoyed this story. Thanks to @martinedwardsbooks.bsky.social for leading me to it!
