Gorgeous autumn night on the Roker Riviera.
Still and fresh feeling.
Breathe in and it's like sniffing in a Vicks inhaler.
Leaves the nose feeling nice and fresh.
Best time of year when the weather is this nice.
Perfect cricket weather today.

Fantastic day at St Andrews today. Visiting the uni with my daughter. And The Old Course.
Couldn't believe a bloke was playing in jeans and a hoodie!
Weather was fantastic too.
What a lovely place.

As well as my first pub, which will be called The Vacant Third Man.
I am going to open a second called The Interminable International Break.
Any ideas for other pubs in the chain?

My boss: so how's our fourth quarter looking?

It means Kevin and the rest of us won't have to go and see 22 men upskilling anymore. What a relief.

Haven't we been down this path before? My local embraced later opening hours a few years back, then reverted to what they'd previously done, because most regulars didn't have the stomach/appetite for it. They would head home around 11.30 anyway.

🎵 Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree 🎵
And that is where it will stay, never gracing England's green and pleasant land again.

Needs work.

Just remembered that it's LBC's 52nd birthday today. So I'm even more chuffed than usual to have been on with @mrjamesob.bsky.social this morning @lbc.co.uk, albeit talking about the evisceration of US democracy.

There have been some silly ideas in county cricket over the years.
Heavy roller. No roller. Toss. No toss.
But this was the worst of them all.
It brought about the most desperately dull cricket.
Draw after draw.
Stupidly high scores on lifeless pitches.
Surrey 820-8d v Durham, anyone?

Gorgeous on the Roker Riviera today.
Nice and warm.
The tide is very low because of the spring tides caused by the super moon.
