Flower fields have been spreading around Anza-Borrego. After 38 days without precipitation and 80F+ weather, these plants will welcome the rain which we will hopefully get next week (Photos: Sicco Rood).

Some mudlarking finds survived for centuries in the muddy banks of the River Thames. Others are freshly baked tasty snacks. 🍪

This biscuit (cookie) set recreates ten of the 350+ mudlarked objects in London Museum's Secrets of the Thames exhibition.

The exhibition closes on 1 March. Don’t miss it!

The softness of spring 🌿

Just a word that I've had a hard time keeping up this week. I've got terrible motion sickness from the enduring Long Covid.
Hope to be back on top of things before long. 💚

Today is the 5 year anniversary to when I slowly started losing my mind during the pandemic and began dressing up as works of art.

As my Twitter account has long been abandoned, why not make a thread of my madness on BlueSky?

The 1st of February, known as the Pagan festival of Imbolc and the Feast of St. Brigid, marks the beginning of Springtime. Imbolc is an ancient pre-Christian agricultural fire festival that was modified and assimilated into the Catholic church as a way to erase the pagan religion.

I found this business card several years ago. It's a favorite. I've wondered about this woman and her laundry enterprise.

Chicago's Rogers Park/ West Ridge Historical Soc. website shows that a Anna Beccavin lived on that street in 1919.
