It’s an exciting day for MA’s energy future! This clean, affordable, consistent baseload power will provide nearly 20% of our total electricity and $3.8 billion in economic benefits, help with monthly electric bills, make our grid more reliable, and improve public health.
Today, power is officially flowing through the NECEC transmission line – delivering affordable, stable hydropower from Canada to Massachusetts! This project will supply 20% of the state’s electricity and save customers $50 million each year on their bills.

More than 50% of a home’s energy use is heating & cooling. New homes built to MA’s stretch energy codes require LESS ENERGY to stay warm or cool. Existing homes can power up energy performance and lower costs with the Mass Save programs or programs offered by municipal providers.
