My students called me a queer icon. 🥰

I wish we had The Works in New England so I could buy a calendar for £1.

It's hard to shower every single day in winter when I have the temptation of dry shampoo to freshen up.

Everyone in New England on here should come to a dinner party at my house.

I mean, I have room for, like, five of you, so don't all jump up at once.

I know I've said the same joke two or three times on these websites, but I assure you it's just because I'm a forgetful ditz and not because I'm farming for interactions.

I really like watches, but "horology" is such an unfortune term.

As a European-American (by that I mean a dual citizen born outside of the US, not one of those people with ancestry who calls herself "Irish" or whatever), I do understand both sides of today's discussion about whether or not to hold Americans en masse with contempt.

It's not a great feeling.

You know you've become an international person when airport border agents in three different countries no longer ask for your passport and just say, "I know you," when it's your turn in the queue.

I wanted to buy a newspaper at Glasgow Airport, but I think pretty much every British (and Scottish) newspaper is an all-out right wing rag at this point, so I couldn't make a decision and just read a fantasy book about a lesbian warrior princess instead.

Everyone makes fun of that "stomp/clap/hey" music (as some people are calling it), but the Swedish duo Smith & Tell completely justify its existence.

I'm happily at the point now where American tourists on aeroplanes think I'm visiting the US instead of coming back to work.

Must be my resting Baltic face.

The dolls on Bluesky are always excited to be called a good girl, but you haven't really been affirmed until your Scottish mother-in-law calls you a good lass for helping in the kitchen.

My leg fell asleep because Bramble won't stop sleeping on my lap.

Beautiful sunset on Dana's parents' farm today.

Maybe it's because I live in Western Mass., but I still say the worst drivers out here all have Connecticut and New York plates. The Mass. drivers are fine.

Dana even noted the same without any prompting from me, so I assure you this isn't my Massachusetts pride or anything.
I live pretty close to the MA/NH border and lemme tell you

Massachusetts drivers are assholes

New Hampshire drivers have heard of these things called “traffic laws” and they don’t think they cotton to them

Y’all might not get just how much New Hampshire is its own strange thing
massachusetts drivers are fucking crazy but new hampshire drivers in massachusetts are fascinating bc when they say "live free or die" they mean it. except by "live free" they mean "let me do whatever i want" and by "die" they mean "i will kill everyone on this highway off-ramp including myself"

Lady brains are the best for working in nuclear engineering. Sorry, I don’t make the rules

Scott Adams told me on Twitter that I have a "lady brain" and refused to believe that I worked in nuclear engineering.

That's his legacy.

Went to Edinburgh today to visit Dana's extended family and they kept giving me different kinds of whisky.

The Ard Beg was good, and the one from Campbelltown. I'm too drunk to remember the rest.

Dana's family is so stereotypically Scottish that this is their backyard.

Here's the Wallace Monument itself, in case anyone hasn't seen it.
