Take a look at this from @dalechapman.bsky.social I love seeing apps like this pop up now. Vibe coding has unlocked so many doors

In #MathsToday, I used Claude to very quickly generate some questions with exact trig values in response to a student's question. He needed a way to practice beyond simple recall.

I tweaked it a couple of times to remove supplementary angles, that is limit to 30 45 and 60, I also asked...

I added a display about #mathematics #books. It's a look into my bookshelf at home, but importantly, it encourages the students to read about #mathstoday...

There are many more out there I didn't include, so feel free to tell me your favourites, and I'll add them!

#MathsToday I made a bunch of posters for a maths timeline, check them out, personalise and download here:

Composite functions anyone? I like to share this one each time I use it. Here's a dynamic version on @geogebra.org

When did this happen?! @desmos.com . Finally, and it looks so nice too :)

The claim of 30000 combinations in Cold Rock Ice Cream doesn't feel like a lot, does it? Anyone want to do the combinations for me?! I wonder where that comes from. 6CR is already 38760. #MathsToday

In #mathatoday I read @kityates.bsky.social and the kiddo was introduced to decimal numbers at the pool depth. He stood at what we assumed was 1.6m (another linear scale Kit)!

On LinkedIn I shared a project for our project week. Plat Diviseur. Applied mathematics at a moment of expertise, the students can measure angles and divide and therefore in year 8 they put these skills into practice (with a little about constructions too)

"wow a rectangle, hey wait a minute I can see 3 twos!" In an exaggerated surprised voice.

Love this kiddo v. much, father son week while mum is away and moments like this are so special. #iteachmaths but in #mathstoday I was teaching this little man to explore...I know what I can do, he says.

Wow. He's trying to draw arrays in the mirror. 😍 #mathstoday

Family fun. Sometimes I wonder if I am cheating the system. What about the kids who arrive at school who haven't played with mathematics very much?

Do I contribute to a disparity and raising of an artificial bar? With time being squeezed at schools, how can we promote more of this home?

He said, giggling:

"I know it's 50, we don't say 5 - 2, that would be silly. We say fifty two"
In #mathstoday. When he's up for it it's the most special thing watching him learn. (My son at home)

In #MathsToday we were talking about Chekhov's gun (the idea that, in a play, if a gun is introduced early on then it must be fired at some point later) The Chekhov's gun in our question was that the area of a triangle was 8. We hadn't used it yet, so we had to figure out a way to introduce it.

In #MathsToday my kiddo beat me at SKYJO. He's 5 and happily adding up those negatives. Today I showed him pairs that add to zero.

He has been counting to -2 since he was 3 because of the lift in our apartment block...

Building a fort with the kiddo and stopped to take a photo for #IBMaths students exploration ideas. Thinking about the angles required in those joints.

www.geogebra.org/calculator/s... @GeoGebra version of this one [email protected]. I'm not happy with the way I changed both the angle and side at the same time. My Friday brain not working out the logic to separate it!
