SWIFT: Trav, honey?
KELCE: (looks up from first edition Krazsnahorkai in original Hungarian) (pauses rare Steve Reich LP, Japanese pressing) Yes?
SWIFT: What rhymes with "thighs"?
KELCE: Hmm. "Belies," perhaps?
SWIFT: (under her breath) Oh for fuck's sake

Co-sign. Go win the thing. Freddy is the go win the thing move.

I think it’s pretty clear that best choice for today is Freddy going on the regular 4 days rest, giving you what he can and then going to whichever end of the pen makes sense. If you lose, you should have all your best RP full fully ready for Saturday. Freddy then starts game 2 if you advance.

He heard Woke Marxist Pope and said “GREAT IDEA!”

Pope Leo XIV placed the poor at the center of the Christian message in his first major document, which was released on Thursday, urging people to defend and protect the most vulnerable as Jesus did while carrying out acts of charity like almsgiving.
Pope Leo Calls on Christians to Care for the Poor in His First Teaching
The message signaled a continuation of one of the priorities of his predecessor, Francis.

I think every team has a guy at least as odious as Kershaw, and perhaps half have one on Treinen’s level. It’s just that (and I don’t mean to downplay this, please keep this up, fellas) a lot of them know how to shut up. Just shutting up is hugely valuable to your reputation.

It's a testament to the Dodgers' industry-leading depth that when one of their accomplished-but-washed chud pitchers duffs a game out of reach they actually have another accomplished-but-washed chud with even worse politics to bring in to mop it up. Most teams don't even have one guy that odious.

Kershaw is also now tied with Justin Verlander for the most career postseason home runs allowed, with 32. Pettitte is the only other guy within ten of those two.

Also she *was* Rick’s girlfriend, albeit long before he took any serious antifascist action. People are so eager to be pedantic they’re willing to be WRONG along the way!

Clayton Kershaw is now the second pitcher ever to give up 100 or more earned runs in the postseason. He's at 102. Andy Pettitte gave up 117, but Andy Pettitte also pitched 80 more innings than Kershaw has.

Hahahah. Dude quote tweeted a Jays celebration video that aired live in which Schneider swore a lot, and said, “Here’s how to file a complaint with the Canadian Broadcast [whatever] about airing an obscenity” and gave a link.

Another low in the hypocrisy parade: Republican tries to say the 2nd Amendment only works for conservatives, doesn't protect liberals.
Another U.S. attorney under President Donald Trump’s Justice Department has failed to get an indictment from a grand jury, although this time it was in Chicago, not Washington, D.C.

A federal grand jury refused to indict a couple carrying firearms while protesting at the Broadview ICE facility outside Chicago. Republicans have been the main political party that has opposed any restrictions or regulations on firearms, but U.S. Attorney Andrew Boutros‘ office went after them as “armed rioters.” The office has since asked that the charges be dismissed.

The AL's representative in the World Series will either be the Tigers (haven't been since 2012), Blue Jays (haven't been since 1993), or the Mariners (have never played in a World Series).

I don’t know hot climates, but I do live in one of the coldest/snowiest large cities in the world.

Winter can be a challenge. But also, it’s just a fact of living here.

You learn to dress for the cold. The city is good at plowing.

Walkability in the winter is totally normal and unremarkable here.

Wait NO! Even Collins is out of the game! We could see Andrew Vaughn at third base in the playoffs!

If Brewers force a bottom of the 9th, it will include Isaac Collins at third base and Bruce Turang at shortstop
