Did you know that MMC5 also has a feature called vertical split where it can switch tilemaps mid-line? Turns out it's possible to make SNES-style shaped windows out of this by changing split position each line!

What are these goofy looking creatures? Puppets! When I was younger I was in a puppet troupe, performing skits that featured aliens, kind of like the Muppets. I wanted to honor them in my game, as one of the performers sadly passed away from cancer a few years ago.

I have a similar affliction. Persona 4 and Super Metroid are some of my favs as well. I gravitate toward making Metroidvania games because it’s what I like to play.

You'll get there! Skills get better with practice and making mistakes. I've made a lot of prototypes and games over the years. Also, most of the art are assets that I modified with a bunch of code to stick it all together.

Nice! Impressive you can move the character while the dialogue is shown. In hindsight, I wish I would have gone with something more like this to have room for more dialogue.

Just a reminder that your local library has more than just books! Many also have dvds, cds, video games, game systems, internet hot spots, streaming services, ebooks, audio books, park passes, museum passes, and so so much more! Maybe it's time for a visit!
