Great Western Railway will introduce 26 Class 175 trains to improve reliability and replace older, less efficient models. The fleet will operate in Devon and Cornwall from later this year, enhancing performance and supporting decarbonisation goals.

We have a government determined to spend 90% of the money for 20% of the benefits.

It's penny pinching of the worst kind and it'll cripple rail in this country for decades for no reason.

Part of the planning permission included lift access running along what used to be the old platform to the top end of the station. Even with the station is basically only easily accessible by foot from the west. Really disappointing, and should be flagged.

I was under the impression there was a form of ramp running from the square above the tracks north of the station. Still, 300 car parking spaces was clearly worth it. 🙄

Did you know the Gateshead Highway has been all but condemned?
The Gateshead Highway flyover is BROKEN and unlikely to ever be used by traffic again.

The lack of anything beyond the minimum, especially when it was included in the planning permission (see lift at Ashington), is a let down for passengers and a great example of pushing the minimum viable product….

Don't really have the foggiest what to make of the Haigh thing, but do remain at least a bit concerned that someone at the top of the Labour party still thinks stomping on other factions matters more than governing.

Class 175 looking splendid in TfW colours. It'll be interesting to see what they look like in GWR colours, either way it's good they've finally found a new home.

Given the relitively small yellow panels I reckon they’ll look very smart in GWR colours. Fantastic that they’ve find a good use, especially given their power output and the variable grades and speed limits in the SW.

If you get on the Victoria Line you might find yourself in a special train carriage. TFL has collaborated with PlayStation installing a brand new PS5 moquette.

The design features a fun maze, encouraging passengers to play as they travel. The carriage will be available until Jan 7th

The Sparks Effect strikes again!

Seen time and again wiring rail routes dramatically increases ridership! MML and TRU are a good start but we need a full rolling electrification program in the UK!
Caltrain's ridership in October was up 54% from the same month last year.

This goes to show how investing in frequent and modern electric trains are the best way for our transit agencies to adapt to today's travel needs.

Return to office isn't what's saving this Bay Area transit agency
Caltrain has seen a surge in riders and fares in October — its first full month of electric service — compared with the same time the year before.
